David's parents gave him us a trip to the Biltmore for his birthday. It was wonderful! We stayed at the Biltmore Inn on the estate and was able to tour the house and gardens as well. We had a wonderful dinner and were able to have some spa treatments too. It was so relaxing - David was exhausted from finishing up school and since I was 37 weeks pregnant it was perfect timing.

We were in Spartanburg last weekend and were able to celebrate Charlotte's birthday with David's family. She loved her elmo cake and all her presents! I told her that her uncle Russell's birthday was coming up (it was this past monday) and she said, "no mommy its my birthday." She also asks to sing "happy birthday" to herself everyday now. Apparently it is going to be charlotte's birthday year round now :-)

We had Charlotte's 2 year doctor's visit this week. She was so excited to go because she remembered that you get a sucker when you leave - sugar free ;-) which is nice. She is 36 inches tall (97%) and weighs 32 lbs (95%). We are so thankful for her, she has brought such joy into our lives, I love to tell her that I am so glad that God sent her to live with us, which makes her smile!

Charlotte turned 2 last week while we were at the beach with my family. We had a wonderful time, I can't believe Charlotte is 2! She is definitely using the possessive now so everything was "MY presents" and "its MY birthday" - how quick they learn!

We moved Charlotte into her "big girl bed" about 2 weeks ago and she loves it! I am so thankful this transition went as well as it did - it just shows you that it really has so much to do with each child's personality as we really didn't do much to encourage this besides talking it up as much as we could. We walked into the nursery the other night and she turns to me and says, "No Mommy, I sleep in the big girl bed now." :-) She doesn't even get out of her bed until I come into her room to get her but just sits on her bed talking until I come in. Hopefully that will last for a long time!

I don't even know where to begin! We are so thankful and overjoyed that David graduated this past weekend! He started Gordon Conwell in the fall of 2005 so it has been quite a journey. We weren't even married then (just had gotten engaged)! David graduated with a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Christian Counseling - a lot of classes and a lot studying! Eventhough David has learned much from his time in seminary, more than anything I can see how God has used this time to draw us both closer to Himself, and for that we will always be thankful.

We went to North Captiva Island, Florida with the Brown family a few weeks ago and had a wonderful time. It is a very quiet island - no cars on it, you actually take a ferry over to get to it. It was so relaxing!
