Charlotte laughing

Here is Charlotte laughing at David while eating. I was feeding her while David is her entertainment!

Tooth

Charlotte has cut her first tooth! It is on the bottom in front. She also has figured out how to get places by rolling across the room. So when I put her down on her playmat, she may be across the room a few minutes later!

Charlotte at 6 months

We had Charlotte's 6 month check-up today. She is 27 inches long (90%) and weighs 19 pounds even (90%). This week we also added some solid foods to her cereal meal. She has had butternut squash and apples and really seems to like both of them. Here are some pictures taken over Thanksgiving:

Concert Pianist

Charlotte loves to "play" the piano. We like that she looks around to make sure you are watching her too!

Charlotte's first bites of cereal

Charlotte is now 5 1/2 months old so we decided to start her on a little cereal. She had begun to seem more hungry throughout the day and woke up some at night so we felt those were signs she was ready. She loved it and is already finishing her "meal" of cereal now.

Charlotte's schedule - 5 1/2 months

~ This is really more of a routine as it really can vary depending on the days and what we have going on but this is the average day for Miss Charlotte!

6:30-7:00 Wakes up around this time (though Daylight savings time really messed this up). I breastfeed her immediately (I think around 6 - 8 oz). Then we go downstairs and I eat breakfast while she plays. Then I give her cereal mixed with breastmilk. After this she plays some more on her playmat.

9:00 Morning Nap

10:00 She sometimes sleeps longer but normally she is up by then and we go for a walk.

11:00 Breastfeed (6-8 oz)

11:15 Playtime (watches me do household things, etc)

12:00 Watches a babyfaith video while I eat lunch

12:30 / 1:00 Between these times she goes down for her Afternoon Nap

2:30 / 3:00 Breastfeed (6-8 oz) Afterwards we run any errands

4:00 For the most part she still takes a little nap late in the afternoon unless she sleeps for at least 2 hours during her first afternoon nap. I won't let her sleep past 5:00.

5:00 Playtime

6:00 Breastfeed (6-8 oz) then Cereal mixed with Breastmilk

6:30 Bathtime / Bedtime routine

7:00 Goes to sleep!

Charlotte's Nursery

I wanted to post some pictures of Charlotte's nursery, mainly to brag on Charlotte's grandmother (Leslie, David's mom) for all of her hard work on it! She made all the linens, painted the monogram canvas, and she and Choppa (Chip, David's dad) painted the nursery together. Charlotte is blessed to have wonderful grandparents!

We didn't know that we were having a girl so everything was green and after Charlotte was born we added pink to the room. The chest was David's growing up and the bookshelf was mine so we painted both of those to freshen them up. The crib, glider, and changing table we found on craiglist! The Lord blessed us with a NEW Pottery Barn crib for half the cost of what it retails for! (The lady I bought it from changed her mind and wanted a different style crib?!)

Update on Charlotte (4 1/2 months)

Charlotte has a few new talents! While I was on the phone today I set her on her play mat on her back and went to the kitchen for just a minute - by the time I came back Charlotte was on her tummy! She also now loves to put her feet in her mouth and suck on her toes.

Small Group Retreat

We went with our small group to David's parents house in Lake Toxaway, NC this past weekend and had a wonderful time! Here is David with Charlotte at Schoolhouse Falls, which we hiked to on Saturday. Charlotte fell asleep for most of the hike! (picture below is courtesy of Uncle Nate)

Charlotte at 4 months

Today we had Charlotte's 4 month checkup. She is 26 inches long (90%) and weighs 17 pounds (97%)! The doctor said we could start solids whenever we want but we will probably wait until closer to the 6 month mark. We are blessed to have a very healthy girl!

Trip to the Beach

We went to the Litchfield beach last week with the Brown side of the family and had a wonderful time! Charlotte loved being strolled on the beach and swinging in the hammock on the porch. It was hard to leave!

Charlotte turned 3 months old this Wednesday! She weighs 15 pounds and 1 ounce and is about 25 inches long now. She is sitting up when propped up really well and is able to support her head. She continues to be fascinated by her hands and smiles a lot at us!

Charlotte's head is getting stronger and stronger. Here she is trying to sit up in her bumbo and laughing on her playmat.
